About Kate Ferber and Jo Lampert
Kate Ferber and Jo Lampert have been singing together in soulful harmony in venues and theaters all around New York City. As both musicians and theater performers, they have collaborated on numerous projects. They completed a residency at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. They have developed a musical language unique to their combined styles and tastes that live in the worlds of soul, R&B, folk, pop and rock. For this evening, these two women will sing music from the songbook of the 60’s and 70’s featuring Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro and James Taylor. The are also delighted to share their original music and songs from Kate Ferber’s current album, The Great Thaw.
Accomplished New York City artist, Kate Ferber has received high acclaim for her one-woman show, One Child Born: The Music of Laura Nyro. She was also featured in the play Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, written by John Mellencamp and Stephen King, with musical direction by T Bone Burnett. Kate is a recipient of ASCAP’s Desmond Child Anthem Award for songwriting, and has performed on New York City stages at Lincoln Center, The Beacon Theater, 54 Below, Joe’s Pub and Rockwood Music Hall. www.kateferber.com Kate shares the stage with Jo Lampert. Lampert is a Brooklyn-based performer, producer, and DJ. She starred as Joan of Arc in the premiere of David Byrne’s new pop-rock operetta Joan of Arc: Into the Fire at the Public Theater
